The Difference is that a Marketing Consultant helps an organization market better or differently to fulfill the organizations goal or needs. Whereas a Marketing Representative implements different marketing strategies, sometimes gathered information from a Marketing Consultant.

Interest Rate Swap Misselling Haunts the FSA
The chairman of the House of Commons Treasury Select Committee, Andrew Tyrie is set to demand and explanation for the growing scandal of alleged systematic interestrate swap misselling by high street banks, mainly between 2005 and 2008.
Mr Tyrie said: “I intend to write to the chairman of the FSA for an explanation of how this issue is being handled.”
It is believed that thousands of small and medium Businesses (SMEs) have been hit after banks began selling them highly lucrative interest rate swap derivates. The complex hedge products were often attached to a loan as a condition that it be granted, and while the bank collected handsome up-front profits on the sales of the product, their customers were often unwittingly locked into payments far in excess of those they had been led to anticipate.
Not only that, but faced with the burden of these payments, on seeking to escape the unfavourable arrangements they then discovered a levy of unexpected exit fees running in many cases into hundreds of thousands of pounds.
It is estimated that thousands of SME businesses have been affected – and commentators say that the scale of the problem may dwarf even the PPI scandal, running into several billion pounds.
Harvinder McKibbin of Harvey McKibbin Solicitors in Lichfield said: “Lots of SMEs feel compelled to accept the situation they find themselves in for fear their bank will call in the loan if they make a public complaint. However, instead of being saddled with this huge burden of debt they could be entitled to compensation if the product was missold – so I would urge any business in this position to seek legal advice as soon as possible.”
I do technical work for large companies with lots of risk and they ask all their suppliers to be compliant in safety and quality Management. The safety programs, I have covered. But I don’t know how to implement a quality program that won’t be hugely cumbersome. I am a sole proprietor, one man show. Your thoughts are much appreciated.

For about $125.00 you can download the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems Requirements. ISO 9001 is, by FAR, the number one quality system in use today. If you have actually read the darned thing, you will at least be able to speak the quality language and that’s a good thing.
If you read the standard carefully, you’ll see you can create a compliant system with just one policy, some measurable quality objectives and six required procedures (most people like to see an organizational chart and a process interaction chart, but these are not strictly "required"). This will only take about 4-6 pages. Then read over everything else, and see if you do all that stuff. If you do, consider a "self declaration of compliance." You won’t claim to be "certified" by an auditor (unless you are willing to pay $2,000.00 for an audit), you’ll just say (if it’s true) that you COMPLY with the standard.
On the other hand, while suppliers LIKE you to be certified, most of them won’t REQUIRE you to be certified as a condition of the sale. Just tell them you are a one person shop and being ISO certified is expecting a little too much. This should work pretty well, but it depends on your customer’s needs and expectations.
